Pete's Treats also Known As Soul Treats is the name of a compilation record of
songs that have been sampled by the hip hop producer Pete Rock. Following in the
tradition of the Ultimate Breaks and Beats series, Pete's Treats contains an
eclectic range of musical styles: mainly funk, jazz and soul. Most are relatively
obscure tracks treasured by music conoisseurs and DJs. All of the songs (or
elements thereof) on Pete's Treats have been sampled into new musical compositions
by Pete Rock.

There are also selections from artists not normally associated with hip-hop
(Little Richard, the Three Degrees, the Impressions), proving that one of hip-
hop's greatest traits is the ability to breathe new life into forgotten material.
This is most impressively proven with Tom Scott's "Today," an esoteric pop song that
was transformed into "They Reminisce Over You."
